Golden Visa

“The Golden Visa is a residence-by-investment program designed to attract foreign investors to Greece. Through this program, individuals and their families can obtain residency in exchange for making certain investments, typically in real estate, business, or government bonds. The Golden Visa offers numerous benefits, including the right to live, and travel within the Schengen Area, access to high-quality healthcare and education, and potential for citizenship after a certain number of years. The Golden Visa is valid for a period of 5 years (which can be further extended) and there is no minimum stay requirement.”

Digital Nomad Visa

“The Digital Nomad Permit is a special residence permit that allows remote workers, freelancers, or self-employed individuals to legally live and work remotely from a specific country, without engaging in local employment. It is designed for professionals whose work is location-independent and primarily conducted online. This type of residence permit in Greece does not allow access to the local labour market. Such individuals may be accompanied by members of their families to whom a personal residence permit is also extended. A Digital Nomad permit is valid for a period of up to 2 years and there is a minimum stay requirement of 183 days per calendar year.”

Residence permits for financially independent individuals

“Residence permits for financially independent individuals are permits granted to non-EU nationals who can demonstrate sufficient financial resources to support themselves without working in Greece. These permits are designed for individuals seeking to reside long-term while relying on personal income or assets from abroad. This type of residence permit in Greece does not allow access to the local labour market. It is also suited to retirees. Such individuals may be accompanied by members of their families to whom a personal residence permit is also extended. The residence permit is issued for 3 years and it can be renewed provided the minimum stay requirement of 183 days per calendar year is complied with.”

Residence permit for a spouse or partner of a Greek Citizen

“A residence permit for a spouse or partner of a Greek citizen can be granted to any non-EU national who is legally married to, or in a recognized partnership with, a Greek citizen. Such permit enables its holder to reside and, in most cases, work in Greece while maintaining family unity under the local Immigration Law.”
